Congrats from over here too!

I agree, it IS fun as well as circuit driving. May I ask what your run was with the 9 (i assume) psi?

I belive it was 7,81 sek and 146 kmh with 1.64 -60foot. Alot of spinning in 1 gear. No launchcontrol. Second run i lett a little air out in the back, then it hooked up a lot nicer. Broke the shifterrod-bushing going into 2 gear
WAs prommised a video, so i will post i link later.

I don't know 1/8 mile times very well, but I think that is VERY quick!
0-60ft ia amazingly quick as well. I have never ran below 1.94 yet...

Launchcontrol works super with a boosted engine. especially with sticky tires it gives awesome acceleration of the line, but with your 1.64 60ft times, who's complaining :D

A 7.xx for the first run is very good! (Depending on what you compair too, ofcourse!)

More power in the start the 60fots should be more like 1.4x-1.5x when everything is working ;)

Metzger!
You must be on clouds of satisfaction.
First time out on the rack and this is what you do?
I am very impressed.
9 psi?

I did sound good, look good and it ran good.

To be honest, now I am jealous.

Looking very much forward to next time out.
I know weather was gorgeus in Sweden and Malmö this past weekend but I had no idea there were races at MECA. Nice.

No teasing like that.....more info and pictures.

Remember talking drysump drop of level in the tank?
I have that problem with my car. I can have a separate thread almost on my latest experience these last weeks starting just after your phone call.

I did some fundamental engineering changes to my drysump and it didn´t work.
Had last minute changes to be able to run but still I had moments of too much oil in the engine not evacuating on low revs.
More later when I can draw and post some schematics.

Again...please update us!
Racer Chris uses an external relief, and the bypass oil is returned to the DS tank, rather than the case sump so the scavenge pump won't have to work so hard.
The vast majority of oil is bypassed so this should help a lot.
(Think this is pretty std. practice on dry sump setups)

The stock pressure relief can be modified much the same way, plug the return to the case sump and stick an output fitting in the exterior plug hole.

You can use a ~similar setup wet sump, returning the bypass oil to the wet sump via a small vented to case deareation tank, couple>3 quarts size w/baffles like a dry sump tank. Keeps the foam down.

Of course you may have tried all this, just tossing up ideas and seeing if anything sticks.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Hi Piledriver,
In order not to kidnap this now very exciting thread, I will update a dry sump thread with my latest experiences.
In fact what you call std practices is what I have done since 1978 but as I wrote, I tried some deviations and it hit me much harder than I ever could think. More later and in different place. I will post link here.
Thanks anyway for good input!

Metzger, you say you had a lot of tire slippage in first gear?
I simulated your run in many ways and to be honest, I could in no way get you to do that run with those 60 ft, eight mile and speed without a very good start.
Looking at the video it seems you are hooking very well too.
Still you say that next run were you had problem going in to second gear "hooked better"!
My prevoius promise to watch you live on Meca Dragway webcamera was lost in a unscheduled dinner and when I finally came home, I just crashed. Not a thought about logging on and checking you out.
Hope you have something more and nice to report?.....even if it makes me more jealous.
