Well its cast iron so the welds will not be pretty
But give it a go!
How does the turbo look without the flange ?
I may be able to make a new cadfile

Jonas. this is what the flange look like.
I heard that if you preheat the cast iron it wil be weldable quite nice.
any input on that?

No comment on the heating part.. but jonasN said to me ones that if you weld on the castpart with the mig and then grind it down then there is no problem welding on it again
I think they have that flange at

have done some moe work.
I had to reloate the wastegate because the stock location was to high to clear the body. it's pretty short but I think it will work.
here's the plenum. I know its not the ultimate design but l give it a try.
I have added some metal inside the plenum for the air in the runners to bounce against.
here's the plenum on the motor.

Very nice design and very nice welding btw!

Why do you need plenum volume in a turbo motor in the first place?
Tnx,

You can get a boost in torque on a turbon engine too

thanks all for the feedback.
I'm going to do allot of minor things the next days. such as brackets for this and that........
you know, things that are quite timeconsuming.
I have also started on the fuelrails. I will post more pictures later......

Nice setup !
Why did you put the turbo behind cylinder n° 3 instead of the otherside (n° 1) ?

Very nice!
Why is it weld on the side of the flanges?
Intressting way of mounting the knockingsensor
I really like the way this engine is coming along! Nice work on the downpipe
But I have some suggestions for you
1. Get a bigger breather! That one wasn't even enough on a stock 2L type4 that I got in one of my cars.
2. Mount the temp sensor in one of the heads
Great work!
Will you be at any meets this summer ?
