We have an Aussie engine builder now providing heads (044 I think) with twin spark plugs. Slight reduction in advance, big improvements in low RPM range.

Stay tuned!

Thats nice KDF!
Do those heads have wbx or type 1 head stud spacing?

Thanks,
Walter

T1 I guess.

Is that no good?

Don't the stud patterns get relocated to suit T1 anyway? (I'm a novice!)

Good info, anybody know what model?

Snowmobiles are 'kinda scarce `round here, which is not an accident on my part. After 10 years in Upstate NY, all winter getting lake effect snow almost every night by the foot, I'm kinda "burned out" on snow.

There were many days I could not tell the bus from the Golf in the driveway... The piles of snow were the same shape and size.

It DOES snow in N Texas rarely, but the next day it's likely to be 70 F, and poof, it's gone.

Yeah, I agree, good info!

Could you specify the models which we need to refer to a bit more?
Would be great!

@KDF: yes, they get relocated, but not necessarily if you have read this thread from the beginning!
The Yamaha 97mm Nikasils are also used in the original wbx stud-spacing. Otherwise, a 97mm bore would never be possible :-)

Walter

Hi,
i found this site when I searched for other aircooled-WBX builders.
Very interesting Thread !
I'm building an 76,4x103 engine with Limbach Heads an 42/37,5 Valves.
Here are some Pics:
http://picasaweb.google.com/Nick1303H/1200er#
One says, you can't use bigger bores than 96mm, or bigger Valves than 40mm.
Yes you can ! I'll see how long it works. I heard about an 82x103 engine that works great !
Greetings from Germany,
Nick

Thanks !
I dont know what "jugs" means, my dictionary said it means "tits"
If you mean the cylinders, yes they are !

The water-to aircooling modifications already were done when i bought this parts.
The previous owner had two many projects, so he sold them.
However, I think the combustion chambers still need some work. As you can see on picture 48 theres an edge
on the valve seat. Needs some welding I suspect.

If anyone wants some detail-pics, of the case or the heads , tell me.
Maybe I should open an own Thread !?

Very nice, I'd suggest smoothing the sharp corners in the combustion chambers.

Not sure how well the cylinders will cool, being so close together.
Air flow between the barrels will be kinda limited.

Oddly enough, that's exactly what I said when I saw your pics!
(slang=="great")

I'd definitely start your own build thread, you have a very cool project!
