cali conversion head cooling issues

Post by ruff »

hello,
don't you guys with cali conversion have any problems with cilinder head cooling when you use the type 4 oil cooler in the 36 hp shroud? because the air that cools nr 3 and 4 has to go through the oil cooler first?

No one has complained and considering everyone does their Cali Conversion a bit different from the other guy, it is amazing. I was fearing head problems when I did my first conversion. So I keep my engine size 2.0 and nothing else special in the block. Now guys with engines up to 2.5 have done it and no problems. At the time I was just trying it with nothing to go by. I wish I knew then what I know now. You will be fine or my first failure.

I just got your book and it is a blessing. I have everything except the Type 4 cylinder tin 1 & 3 extra pieces. I am going to start that project next weekend.

Many guys have found no matter what you decide to do, build it yourself or buy a kit, the book really helps you understand the T-4 conversion.

By the way my records shows you did not by my manual someone give it to you. Well you see, each manual goes out with a tracking device so you and the guy that gave it to you better keep looking up. Because my other manual that I will be releasing shortly is how to Convert your bug into cruise missle.

Just kidding enjoy it and if you hear it ticking, just give it to someone you don't like, ha. ( you have 15 seconds after the first tick )!!!

Thats cool. I like to hear stuff like that. It is nice to see that you can have performance as well as reliability. Try doing that with a type 1. :D
