I'm glad to hear that you like the Type 4rum. This is a great collection of VW people, people who live and breathe VWs, especially Type4s.
For the most part though, most of the regulars here are amateurs. I don't make a penny from VWs, it's just a hobby (more like an obsession).
Well join in the discussions and let us know how the Ghia runs. Can you give us some details of the engine. Size? Camshaft? Heads? Intake? Who made the parts? You get the idea. Share. That's what makes this forum so good, we share information.
The car was bought as is (almost)without engine and is going to be driven
in this version this sommer.I started to build the motor 8 years ago but as always with me some other project came in between.
Spec of the motor is as following
Stock crank 71 mm
Rods came from a K70 and has pistoncooling
Cima/mahl 94 t1 pist/cyl
296 cam
Heads are welded and ported by M.Carlsson 44/38 valves.double springs
Pauter drysump pump
45-dcoe carb
T04B turbo
Modified stock distributor
The blueish stuff and header was made by owner
Wish there were more hours in a day.Have done most of the stuff on brekfast and lunch brakes. It`s hard to combine family and hobby at the moment

Very nice setup.
An interesting observation - I am assuming that everything is structually sound enough that the weight of the dry sump tank will not crack the brackets due to engine harmonics and vibration. The positive side of the type of mounting is that those very same harmonics and vibrations SHOULD help in de-aireating (spelling) the oil. Th trapped air bubbles should come to the surface MUCH more quickly giving the pump a "cleaner" supply of oil.
Again - VERY nice work!
Well thank you Marty. Those words coming from you is like musik. You are considered to be one of the "gurus".Like your work too.Let`s just hope it runs good to.

Hey Marty. I'm glad you saw this set up. I'm just here taking mental notes for the set up I'd like to get from you. I know that I'll be in good hands when my car goes to your lab.
Metzger, I love what you've done. Please keep us posted with your progress and final results.
