You guy knew I am into the wild machine art, will this baby fills the bill.

I have a hassle trying to get photoson this site so you have to go to March issue of HOT ROD MAGAZINE.

The entire interior of the bus is the engine and blower. Mid engine. Lift up barn door to engine. Scoops and Louvers.

Mean machine.

My version of that has for about 12 years been stuck in my head....

BUT my version is still aircooled, weighs 500 pounds less makes 1850 SHP and don't have any pistons....

It's called a T-58 Turboshaft and it's made by GE......

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! yep I think that is it!!!!

I must say that is unreal. OK I dig what was done with the massive engine, but----------the body is really what I like. A good nice 160hp engine would be just fine with a nice leather interior. Blast down the highway and dare to be COOL!!

Lately the rage is not just having a nice ride but being different . That thing is different.

Owning a splitty and being on the taller end of the normal scale (6'3"), I can't imagine hunkering over the steering wheel and trying to see out of that windshield. Heck, I already look out the top 3" of the glass. . . Chop 4"+ out of there and I'll be looking at the ground 5 feet in front of me!! NO WAY going Bonneville speeds!!! Anyone know the top speed of that thing??

It would be interesting to see the suspension mods done to that bus. Anyone who has raced down a mountain pass at 90+MPH in their split can attest to the WiCkEd handling they have at high speeds. Not exactly the typical choice for Bonneville. Guess that's why it's so darn cool!!

can drive,
the 1870 SHP # is "Topping power" basically it can only be used at that level for a matter of about 30 seconds before T5 temps elevate and the engine starts to over temp.

The T-64 is a brute but it consumes 4X the fuel and has a bit more weight to contend with.
I have the paperwork to work on both on the wall behind me :-)

Hay it don't need heater boxes. It is a big heater box. Nice and toasty in the winter. Besides the fact it is major hassle to put windows on a chopped car. They need to stay cool. How the hell do they drive that in the Summer or So Cal.

I'm guessing that it is a street vehicle. Has a plate and no cage so no cage means no racing at Salt Flats. The air inlet looks a little small to be doing to much a speed anyway.

Where did you get those degrees at?

When thinking of strapping a jet engine to a small car, or any car for that matter one of the last things on my mind is fuel consumtion. Thats what the Super 2 liter is for!

I would think when the power is 2.5 times that of the original engine I dont think the weight difference would be much of a problem.

If we ever want to make a bug break the speed of light  I found the perfect engine! http://www.geae.com/engines/commercial/ge90/index.html
