I love the lines of that car. I was wondering if anyone knew who makes them, and if anyone has heard of a Cheetah rear engined car

And occasionally I see bodies come up on Ebay relatively cheap.

I see two on Ebay, but expensive. Do you know if anyone is making them for rear engine config?

Not that I know of. Those bodies are designed for a front engine setup. Any more rearward weight would seriously throw off the balance. Besides, why would you want a rear engined Cheetah?

Other than curiosity? the large ammount of spare parts I have for type 4 engines
I love the shape of that car. Lovely lines. Point well taken on the balance. I guess a small block v8 would not be a bad thing after all.

Ahhhh....well...if you were really clever, you could do a bit of fiberglassing to the passanger compartment to move it forward a bit, and make it a mid-engine with a huge front trunk compartment....
Just a little different!
Oh, and the bodies on Ebay for $1K - that's cheap for a start price. Most times I see the Shell Valley bodies going for over $5K.

Ephry,
How about a front mounted T4? Hook it up to a standard RWD Trans - or better yet how about a rear mounted 944 transaxle....
It looks like the engine could be set back far enough in that chassis to clear the front suspension with the wider boxer motor. Now that would be trick!

Hmmm, maybe. The again, an all wheel drive VW platform would be nice.

If I am correct it's made by a guy by the name of Bill Thomas.
