hello everyone, hope you all had a good christmas. i actually spent most of it in bed with flu, and got to thinking between coughing fits about turbocharging my type 1 engine. i'll give you a lowdown on what ive got, some questions i would like answered, and any other pointers yo have would be great!
1969 type2, porsche 915 box & clutch (good brakes too!), 1915 type 1 engine,fully flowed & welded around no 3. (69 x 94), 8 dowelled, std rods. engle 110 cam, scat followers, chromoly pushrods, bolt up rockers, swivel feet adjusters, 1.1:1 rockers, 40mm inlet, 35.5 ex valves, 044 ported/polished heads. deep sump, 2 x dellorto 40mm carbs with k&n's, porsche cooling fan, 7.8 :1 c.r, gene berg 1 5/8" header & exchangers, 1 oil cooler above gearbox, 1 below battery tray (n/s). i think thats all.
1)compression ratio. this is a type 2, so should i be looking for a lower figure?
2)dizzy. i have an 009 with pertronix elec ign kit. i presume ill have to change this. any ideas?
3)can dellorto drla carbs be modded, or is there a suitable alternative?
4)i dont want it revving much past 55 to 6000, anyone reccommend a turbo? i would prefer to go blow through if possible.
5)should i go for a counterweighted crank with all the xtra stress, will a std crank flex and/or break?
6)should i go with forged pistons?
7)can i run std rods, or not?
i am not looking for delerious amounts of hp, i am making a conservative estimate of about 150hp? any comments?

If you are house bound with the flu,might I suggest you go back through the numerous posts on this site ....The wealth of information from the likes of Tracy , Muffler Mike, john Connolly ,( I may have misspelt his name I do often ,sorry,John) Steve Aren't, LoCash etc etc etc etc will keep you buzy for hours .I doubt if any question you may have come up with in your NyQuill induced reverie has not been dealt with in some form in the 2500 plus posts to this forced Induction Forum....Heck we even answered an H2O question or two....)
