Throttle body sizing for turbo FI

Post by Turbo_Rich »

Not sure if im posting this in the right area but anyway does any one have any suggestions about sizing a single throttle body for a 2459cc turbo FI engine? I picked up a TB the other day that is 65mm intake then tapers down to 55mm. Is this large enough?

Thanks

Might be ok, might be a little small. Depending on the rest of your setup. There are alot of variables. If you build it with, lets say a ford mustang throttle body, they sale all kinds of sizes for it so you could upgrade easily without any modifications.

In one word: Yes.

51 mm = 2.00", most turbos have a 2" compressor outlet, if your turbo has a larger outlet, size up the T/B and induction to match.

I am running a Garrett T3 and it looks like a 2" outlet which should be ok then. I will be plumbing it into a DTA P8 pro system which will have the injectors aiming at the back of the valves.
