i was looking in a european vw magazine and saw some bugs in there with headlights that had a wedge painted on the lens. its kinda hard to explain but there is a triangle on the lens and that part was painted black. i was wondering why they did this? was it not to blind oncoming traffic or to bounce back more light or what? looked pretty cool to

Strictly for looks. If you look at the water pumpers in the euro mags, many have "eyebrows" on the tops of the headlights, or even a custom hood that covers the tops of the headlights to give them this look. Just another way to get a custom look. I havent seen a bug take on this exact look before, what mag was this in????

Re: painted headlights
This could be englisch cars driving in a other part off europe. Ore vice versa In england they drive on the left side of the road, so the headlights are not good for the rest off europe..
