Bodgit and Leggit turbo

Post by Custom Bug »

I have a few engine parts knocking around my garage and im thinking of building a turbo engine on the cheap. I have a T1 crankcase tapped for full flow, machined for bigger cam and pistons. I also have an old 1300 engine with one broken valve.

I have a weber 32/36, will i need to modify it for use with a turbo?

Do all of the engine exhaust outlets have to lead to the turbo?

Does it matter how far the turbo is from the carb?

What other low cost engine mods would be beneficial for a turbo setup?

I was thinking of aquiring a turbo from a scrap diesel car, is this a wise thing to do?

Finally would it be easier to forget the turbo and spend the money on building a better normally aspirated engine?

Bit of a monster post, thanks for any help with this.
