Intake question

My 1600 DP is currently out of the car while I clean it and do some other work. During the cleanup I happened to have the pieces of the intake lying side by side. The left side part of the intake is considerably different than the right. It is actually longer. It fits, and the car has been running. But is that normal? I always thought that the intake is supposed to be indentical on other side. Besides a left and right of course.

Dave, the carb base is off to the left to clear the generator/alternator. That's why the runners are different lengths. Ol' John
