What size taper bit? Ford tie rod ends? + baja pics

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Are you doing this or sending it in to a machinist.

I've had EXCELLENT luck bringing the part to a machinist... they scribble something and then it comes back perfect.

I'm interested in the process of the garage metal working if you're doing it.

i plan on doing it..unless i say screw it and buy some beefy spindles..

lol me and my friends do everything ourselfs..thats why most of it is shoddy at best!! J/K

but really..i figure..square it up in a vice..toss it under the drill press and have at it..i am sure i could drill them on the car even..with a big honkin drill..i know i know..eeeeekkkk!!! but you would be supprised at how much stuff we can make work..and look good..with not even close to the right tools :)

did you see the price of that bit? if you're going to do it once or twice, its worth taking it to a machine shop. i think i paid $30 to have mine done

Hamburger...
That was kind of my indirect point...

I have a contract with a cutting tool distributor -- their customer base are machine shops... poke around... you'll find a machinist who will do this for fun money... it wil be perfect...

Spending $20-40 on some machining is less expensive than hacking spindles.

(Now I have to admit that I've done some "vice" reaming... not successfully)

I was hoping to learn some home brew machinging tips.
