How To Split A T4 Case?

I tried for my first time today to split a type 4 case, and no success.
Is there a trick or secret to this? I am positive I got all the bolts and nuts off, took me a while, but I finally found all of them. I got the flywheel and oil pump off too.

Oil pump, flywheel, and pressure plate are for sale if interested.

If it's really stuck and you have an engine stand, then grab a friend and use a 2x4 and a hammer to tap on the few places you can... that heklped me...

I got the motor on a stand. I was using a rubber mallet and that didn't work. I will try a 2x4 and hammer. I got every nut I am sure.

I would try a plasma cutter!

Be gentle when using a hammer and a 2x4. You can use a little acetone to around the cracks. it will help loosen up the sealer.

Did you knock out the six through bolts? They love to hang sometimes on the plastic spacers.

...spoken like a true Texan. Whatever bro... :?:

I usually ignore negative feedback coolj30. I don't know what your motivation is  but I'll continue to offer you encouragement! Many a time I was ready to give up only to find that I missed the simplest thing. It usually ends in a good laugh and a lesson learned.

Hang in there and be patient.

I am going Type 1 to save some money. And there or more options that are cheaper. And someday I may turbo the type 1 I want to build and everyone says turbo a type 1 not a type 4. I know I will regret selling my 2.0L T4 someday.

By the way I also drive a 1995 Chevrolet Camaro. LOL

Man after all the stuff I have been reading and all the folks I have been talking too dont waste your money on a type 1 unless it is a stocker for a trailer queen. Their is no way that I will ever spend anymore money on a type 1 as far as performance goes. Do what you want, everybody does their own thing, Just my 2 cents. Type 4 is the way to go if you want some seerious reliable power.

I have been RAT-A-SIZED :D Thanks Jake.!
