Does the flywheel need to be taken off to split an engine ca
Does the flywheel need to be taken off to split an engine case? If so why? thank you

Why leave it on
If you need to split the case why leave it on? Its just more weight to deal with and you cant get the main bearing or the seal off.

Flywheel has to come off first on 36HP and older engines only.
