Auto-Refresh
Set up an automatic refresh on the forum pages.
I sometimes leave the forum up and it would be nice to have it updated in "real time". So like... every 3-5 minutes have it refresh the page so you can see new replies and such?

The auto-refresh would suck. I am on a rural dialup, the last thing I want is papges loading un-provoked.
Also it is not a 24/7 connection, so when someone wants an analog conservation it gets hung up. Instead of being able to read posts off line I would see error pages.
Say no to auto-refresh, F5 forever!

Yeah, I had that problem but I got a LAZYMOFO2000 at the local fitness store to build up strength in my fingers... now I'm up to the big rubberbands...err 'power-rods'mharney wrote:Yeah, it's pretty tough to have to point and click that refresh button, or hit F5. Wears me out.

Best practice is to compose your reply in Wordpad or Notepad and paste it in when it's done - that way if anything goes wrong with the process it's easy to repeat without having to retype everything. I learned this the hard way, at many other forums the reply screen clears if you hit the back-button to have another look at the thread. Am I doing it now? No, I knew this'd be a short one.1967Fastback wrote:Also, I don't know about you folks, but sometimes when I'm in the middle of making a reply, the phone rings, the coffee's ready, yadda, yadda, yadda. I'd be awfully pi$$ed to come back to a cleared reply screen.

You missed some fun. An old schooler brought a pinto (yes a pinto) bracket car with a BIG 460 block and who knows what else ... dude was shuttin down early and coasting through the lights @ 6.5 sec. Thing had the most violent launch you could imagine. On a lighter note ... Tyler (my son) spotted a gaggle of late model Mustangs at the local Chevron on the way home from work. They showed up at the Q and proceeded to display their "talent". 10 and 11 second runs (remember this is 1/8th mile) with reaction times in the +1 second range (.500 + 1.00) ... the capper was the maiden voyage for one of these "racin' rascals" ... fragged his diff ... left 90 weight and rear-end parts over half the length of the left track. They call their club the "Wild Horses" ... everyone was very impressed. No ACVW's though ... this is the 4th race in a row without anyone to cheer for.

Alright, next race, bring tools and all the 85.5mm p/c sets you have, lets show em what the ACVW's got! Or better yet, rebuild AT THE TRACK with my 69mm CW crank to replace that old forged thing in there, drop in my mystery cam, those single high rev springs and let loose.
whaddaya think that'll do?
And as for the wildhorses... friend of mine was in it... for 2 days, found out they were all talk and no action.
