Still a lot that needs to be done, but she runs !
Feels pretty quick, gotta love that torque.

Rob,
What kind of fuel pump is that? also, where did you get the fuel line? (I was planning on using large diameter brake line, but that looks like a better solution) It is good to see that someone else has gotten the motor to run on stock ecu, it seems like most opt for a standalone (I'm currently trying to sort through my rats nest of a wiring harness). Congrats on getting her running!

Rob,
You aren't worried about the rabbit pump not flowing enough for the Suby? Rabbits never made lots of power = didn't need much fuel. Did they come with an in line pump, or is that just an in tank pump that is no longer in the tank? I'm just trying to figure out away around spending $200 on a good bosch in line pump. Thanks for the help

Josh,
According to the guy I bought the pump of said they are using the same pump for WV VW6 motors so that's what I kinda went with.
However, I am not convinced that it's enough. I am planning on installing a fuel pressure gauge to see if I get enough pressure. And I also need to figure out how much fuel it is pumping.
I enlarged the fuel pickup in the tank and installed a fuel filter before the pump, but I'm not sure the setup works correct. I might go to an racing type fuel cell eventually.

Rob,
How did you go about enlarging the the outlet, that is one thing I considered, but didn't see any easy way of doing it. Any idea number wise how much that pump is going to flow? I don't have much experiance with this kind of stuff, but from what I have been told I want some where around 170-190 Liters per hour. That is going on the assumption that I should be in the 250-300hp range when done (which seems pretty reasonalbe on the legacy turbo motor). Any reason for not just using a stock fuel filter in the engine compartment like it comes stock? Thanks for all the help.

Josh,
I wasn't able to enlarge the pickup by much. I did not change the actual opening in the tank, just the tube that goes through it.
The original tube with the filter on it is really small, so I just took a piece of fuel line with a flared end, enlarged the hole in the nut a bit, put copper washers on both ends and that was it.
As to the filter, I wanted a filter before the pump to make sure no junk got in the pump and ruining it. Like I said, I need to get a Fuel pressure gauge to see what pressure I get, and I'm also planning on just having the pump run with the end of the line in a bucket to calculate how much it flows. I do have the required flow rate for the 2.5L somewhere.
Hope this helps, let me know how your project is coming a long. Are you keeping track on a website maybe ?

Yea, I know. I would like to keep it the VW family, I was just checking all my options. I assume I could use the same adapter and flywheel though
. For some reason, I never thought of that. I have been lurking on the Vortex to try and learn what I can about the different WCVW engines. I'm still tryin to sort it all out and find out the differences between the engines.
