I have a voltage reducer stepping down the 12v to 6v. Should it be hot to the touch??? Noticed this when installing a radio.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Oh, yeah. They can run hot enough to be a fire hazard, make sure it's securely mounted in a clear space.
Better solutions exist, like putting a 12V armature in your wiper motor or building a current-limiting regulator.

One of our bajas has an electronic component soldered in... not sure what it is ... maybe someone can comment on it -- our wipers don't run hot and are at operating speed..
