'67 trim question

The chrome strips on the side of my new old '67 type 1 are less than half an inch in width. The strip running along the middle of the front hood is roughly an inch in width. Is this hood from a different year of VW?

Yes, the front hood is one of many one-year-only parts on a `67. An earlier hood fits but the holes need to be filled and smaller ones drilled for the narrow-chrome trim clips.

Thanks for the reply. Would it be easier to go the other direction? That is, put older, wider strips along the sides to match the front hood? Kinda like the way the wider strip looks.

I suppose it would (easier to make holes bigger than smaller) but it seems sacrilegious to me to alter a `67 like that.

my 67 has had wider trim fitted at some point, all the holes have been made bigger, grr

im gonna get it put back 2 the narrow trim
