Do you have any pictures? It may be repairable, or it might be better to weld on a donor roof. You can send a picture to me through email: [email protected] please put Bug roof in the subject line as I delete a lot of stuff that does not appear to be specific to my work.

sorry...
this is a 63 bug, and it's very hard to get around here (israel) the only problem is the roof the car is very clean and solid.... i don't really have the option to weld a new roof but a bigger problem would be finding a 63 donor... :(

i was thinking about straigthning it as close as possible to the original state and than use a coat of bondo to get the surface as smooth as possible, the roof isn't THAT bad, but do u think this kind of repair will last? if so what is the right process?

i'm intending to do it this way -
straigthning it--->sanding--->priming-->bondo coat--->wet sanding->painting...

what do u think?

That should work, but don't use Bondo brand, or any of the others that contain talc as the base.
