so you run air and water cooling? How did you route the water out the bottom sealing flange area that normally cools the cylinders?

Steve, thanks for the interest.
This is Marco's pic (and very cool it is too), just for reference.
All the 'holes' bar the stud holes have been either welded up or plugged. Cooled water enters the heads by the hose-tails nearest 2 and 4 exhaust ports. the heated water exits by 1 and 3 and up to the top of the rad's. When the car came to us, the cooling system had ZERO flow, too many tee's, no pump and a single radiator. 'Proof of this was the absence of the core plugs in BOTH heads, probably blown out somewhere down the 1/4 mile at Santa Pod, This engine is still property of the builder, we aim to take a bit more care of it. We are not trying to make it the fastest car but it would nice to have more than a couple of goes each (there is quite a few of us) without selfishly 'destroying' it. We have installed a rad' and pump to each head and they have a common expansion tank. The rad' fans are on 'stats, the pumps will come on after warm-up, it's a bit of a laugh really. 'Ultra-low budget' hence the name 'Ca$hback'
Sorry I have no recent pics, the concrete roof on place where the car is being stored at collapsed a few weeks back

The back of the car is unscathed but we need a complete front end including beam and possibly wheels

What are the inlet manifolds you are using?
Where in NW of England are you?
Nice engine!

The carbs are atop T1 manfolds with a billet ali adapters which we intend to omit in favour of some nice port-matching. The bakelite insulators have been retained.
We're in Cheshire

water cooled, and water in a puddle under the car
I like the creativity!
