Anything is possible. But would it be worth it? I have heard of people doing it, saying that they would never do it again. These same people say that it would have been easier to graft on a torsion frame-head. The latter makes more sense to me.
About the long wheelbase buggy. They are out there, that fit standard length pans. Buggy bodies are so inexpensive, I don't think it would be worth the trouble to lengthen a short one. If you have a running Super, why not sell it and buy a buggy project? You can get a decent project for around $500, sans motor. I bought my Empi Imp for $600. I have noticed that full length buggy projects seem to go cheaper than regular shortened ones. I don't know why. Just my opinion.
Take it easy!

Anything is possible but I haven't seen any kits with struts at front. I just don't think firberglass is stong enough to handle the fatigue over time, you'll have to use metal bar reinforcments to do so.
They do make stock legthn pan manx-type bodies. FiberJet makes them. They don't look as nice as the shortened ones in my opinion. They look like buggy-limos.

IS it possible to mount a MAnx style fiber glass to a super beetle frame? You would hafta weld up some strut reinforcement, but has it been done? Also...I have quite a bit of fiber glass experiance and wondered... Instead of shortning the frame, Could I make the buggy longer...Like make a back seat with some leg room??Thanks

Guys check over on the off-road forum on this one. It`s common practice to install the standard front clip in either BJ or LKP onto a super chassis. Good luck. Bob ingman

If you've got a real EMPI Imp then those puppies go for big bucks these days if some of the prices they reach on Ebay is anything to go by. If you plan to cut one about it may make more (financial) sence to stick to a no-namer.
How's Pensacola?
I live in the UK but have folks there and try to get over as often as I can for breakfasts in the 'Coffee Cup' and 'Mesquite Charley's' steaks.
If you want a cheap body to cut up there was one for sale at a pawn shop up in Milton a few months back...$100- he wanted. It was in good shape too!
