Fog lights

Post by Houndoggy »

I am looking to buy 2 5" diameter fog lights with clear lens to mount on the front bumper of my 74 Thing. I have the original bumper on but i'm wondering if the lamps are too deep to mount it just offset from the center apron. I dont wanna mount them too close to the headlights thats for sure. Has anyone tried this?

Houndoggy mount them as low as you can for maximum effectiveness. Good luck. Bob Ingman

I installed the HELLA 500 series onto the top of the stock front bumper utilizing existing holes. Fit was fine and allowed for adjustment. They were to the inside of the bumper overiders. I later switched to the prerunner style bumpers from kemperfab.com. His mounts were a little closer together but farther out.

Jeff where are the Hella 500s found and what is the cost? Sounds like the best. Good luck and thanks for posting this information. Bob Ingman

I found the Helle 500 at PepBoys a discount auto store. I liked them due to their slim profile as compared to others I have seen.
I believe that CHIRCO carries them as well.
