Is there a rule of thumb to min/max throttle body size. For my 2332 efi intercooled turbo I'm planning on running a single throttle body. I have been looking at the 5.0 Mustang throttle bodies which are very clean units that do not have a lot of assessories, vacuum ports, etc on them. My favorite is the one on the 4.6L OHC engine. I have seen them on ebay and are about 60-70mm in size. I plan to centrally locate the throttle body & fab (4) 2" runners to a pair of IDF style CB Perf manifolds with the injector & fuel rail mounts.
Would a 70mm tb give me sluggish lowend reponse?
Would the above setup have the flow capabilities of a pr. of 48mm tbs.

Throttle Body Size??
A single 48mm TB will give the same flow #s as a set of 48 TBs on a 4 cyl., 4 stroke engine. The engine will only pull air thru it once every 180 degrees of crank rotation, a V8 is every 90 degress and thus has overlap on two cylinders. Your plumbing will influence flow #s more than the TB will.

Throttle Body Size??
Thanks for the info Tom.....a co-worker who builds turbo kits for watercooled VWs(jettas, VR6, etc.) is getting me a good deal on a VR6 tb which is 60mm. He's also garanteed me that the factory tps switch is compadible with my choice of emc(Autronic).

Throttle Body Size??
TPS = throttle position swich. It tells the brain if the throttle is closed or open and how much it is opened, up to wide open.
