Throttle Postion Sensors

Just wondering if anybody knows where there is a bit of knowledge about sensors. Looking for design data like physical size, resistance, direction of rotation, and any other facts about them.

What I need is some specs so I can find one that rotates opposite of the one sample I have off a GM TB. I would like to add one to a TB that doesn't have a TPS on it.

Any clues or leads welcomed.

I have no idea where to look for info.
SDS sells the same TPS but one designed for CCW rotion and one for CW rotation. It might be easiest to just pop the cash for on that works the right direction for your app.

That was the clue I needed. 10 to 1 that their sensors are an off the shelf item and I can get it at my local NAPA store. I just haven't done any research into them at all, I haven't even looked at the one in my bug to see if it is opposite. Just mild musings while at work, but on my break! hehe

Now to return the call from the machine shop, bad news I fear :ekk:

Hi
I bought mine from an electronics firm in oz. Its multi directional, you can put it on backwards. My ECU has a calibration function for the TP switch. My system, Autronic SMC calls for a linear or rotary potentiometer, resitance 2000 to 20,000 OHMS, it needs just more than 90 degrees travel, the output voltage to rise with increasing throtle opening.
I will try to get the brand or part number of my TPS.

Hi Tom
The TPS i used came from RS Components, I think they have outlets worldwide. I cant get hold of the part number at the moment, if you need more info I can get it after Easter, my friend with the catalogue is away until then. It even had the correct shape for the throttle shaft.
