Subaru conversion

Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum as I've only just got back on the net!
I've got a 2.0 Scooby Turbo (import - 256bhp) engine which I'm gonna chuck at a 1962 bug chassis! I was wonderin where the best place would be to get an adapter plate?! I know of a few companies, but have no contact information what so ever!
Also, what gearbox would anyone go for? I can get the Scooby gearbox, so I'm thinking of grafting that into the chassis... what do ya think?!

All the subaru people whinge how crap the subaru gearbox is and how easy it breaks so I personally wouldn't use it, plus the fact it turns the wrong way.

I'll have to look into getting a decent gearbox then! I want 5 speed really, I know of a place that can build me a strong one... I'll get in touch with them!

Go to my website for full details, there is also another guy on here that has just bought a bug with this set-up in Australia (Reuben), he has posted pictures before, do a quick search (maybe in Volksrodders section)

Oh by the way, how did you rig the fuel tank?! I'm guessing there are return pipes to play with?!

Nice pics Reub! How's the tear down coming along?
For the fuel tank I would advise a fully baffled unit with internal high pressure fuel pump. It would probably be easier to adapt a different one or make a new one up. Yes, you need a return pipe and possibly extra vent lines, dependign if you use the Subaru carbon canister etc etc
