Are there instructions for shortening a VW pan somewhere? Like where to cut, known issues, etc?
I'm thinking about a VW based kit that requires a shortened pan. Don't want to buy their short pan since I have a donor already.
Thanks

I have instructions somewhere (maybe from Fiberjet Industries, 'glass buggy manufacturer) that has basic instructions. If I find it I'll scan it for you. They say make a V cut instead of a straight cut so the weld would be stronger. Top of V would be towards the front of the car. My dunebuggy (that was told was made in 60's) has a tube sub-chassis frame welded on bottom of the floor pans for extra rigidity. If you need picts I'll try and take some.

I have an old article that I used to cut my pan for my Speedster. I'll see if I can "dig it up".
