Check out this rad and cowling of a B4 Passat, the intake is at the bottom.
Therefore if you duct the air in under the front panel thru a spoiler you wont need to chop holes in the main body.
What dya reckon?

I can't see why it wouldn't work. I've been thinking the same. My goal as I plan is to only cut one piece of body structure out of the package tray AND THATS IT. I believe that as the air flows under the front of the bug it is automatically sucked up. If you can put a non-obstructive splitter or spoiler under the radiator to help capture the air I think it will work out fine. Of course you will still need electric fans for idle situations

Nope, I got plenty of room left upstairs for more dreaming! I have had a bunch of other stuff going on in my life(divorce, new house, new practice, new girlfriend). I'm trying to plan it right down to the fasteners. As I get closer, I'm going to mock up the subframe in PVC pipe so if I want to change something I just cut it out and redu it. I want to do the new 200 hp VR6(I guess you lucky guys already have that available over there!) and if it doesn't tickle my fancy enough, I'll put one or two turbos on from HPA Motorsports. Check them out at www.hpamotorsport.com. They are located in Langley, British Columbia, Canada, the town I grew up in! We are a smart bunch, us Canadians ya know! Hey, what are you going to do for the gas tank? I still haven't figured out what I'm going to do on that one. I'm thinking maybe a custom built fuel cell that sits on the floor behind the front seats. What do ya think?

Sounds fine to me, the gas tank I mean.
Sorry to hear bout the divorce It can't be because you spent to much time in the garage tho' can it?Good to hear life has continued in spite of it.
I haven't finalised a location for the tank yet but we have a good budget so we will have a lot of options. A motorsport fuel cell springs to mind Image
