My neighbor had a bay window with a v6 ford in it and the decklid closed. Don't know which engine though. Try this v6 installation in a bay at
http://home.earthlink.net/~dmh012/links.htm

Plus there are some good links there.

Hope this helps

Has anyone fitted a Colonge V6, 2.8 or 2.9 to a van?
Has anyone got any pitures of this.
From what I have seen of fitting a Rover V8 to a T2, it won't fit completely into the engine bay length wise. I have heard of people fitting the Colonge V6 to T2's but not seen it.

there is an Aussie site with lots of busses running v8's. I have it somewhere saved on favorites. If I remember correctly, one of them was an aluminum v8 from a rover. I know the v6 products from general motors will fit into a beetle. I saw one at a car show. It had a bumper sticker that said not to open windows over 110mph.. Usually that would be a joke with a volkswagon, This one, I believe could easily pass that milestone..
Have fun...If I find the link, I will post it.

At the last bugorama, the guy parked next to me had a v6 in his big green thing, his name is colin and he's the founder of Airspeed car club, down in so cal. (Actually he and a bunch of others drove up and stayed in our house for the show)

his is a Chevy Lumina v6, 2.8 I believe. If I remember correctly, It was an older style Lumina with Carbaration, Like a special model or something, anyways it had a holly two barrell carb, was lifted with great big tires, yet cruised along, and got up on it.
I believe it's a kep adapter kit, I'll try 4 more info.

The coolest thing was that he is so good at what he does, If the engine compartment is closed, You'd never even see it wasnt a stock motor. The exhaust exited through the bumper. The Radiator was mounted on top of the transmission, with a huge fan, with a temp controlled switch. Did I mention He drove it all the way from Los Angeles to Sacramento in the summer heat without any problems, took first place in the thing catagory, and then drove back home the next day with no problems?

Try Bernard Newberry
He put a 2.8ltr in the back of a T25 wasser
crew cab pickup.
these engines are v.heavy why not try the Rover 2.5 KV6 all alloy efi etc. can be found in Rover600/800 and Freelanders

Mike,

don't know if you're commited to the cologne yet (brut? sorry......), but I gotta agree - those motors are heavy and kinda bulky.
So my bench racing suggestion is the Renault V6 - 3 litres, ally and often comes attached to a handy 5spd transaxle, if you can fathom the complexities of the twin shift rod linkage....

I've decided to go for the Rover V8. I'm going to make it fit!!!
The absolute has to be the Porsche 928 motor but I really don't think I could get that to fit without moving the gearbox fowards! Plus I don't know where I'd find an Auto-box which would withstand the power.
