Hi,
Ok, having some trouble dialing in a pair of 36 dells on a 1776. The carbs are in good synch, linkage is set up right, but they've got a huge stumble off of idle, and die sometimes coming down from cruise. Also, at about 40-50 mph in 3rd there is a very noticeable stumble, very much like a misfire, but it's not in the ingnition system. The dellorto book I've got says that oversize idle jets can cause these symptoms, but it's not exactly the most concise piece of tech writing i've ever seen. The jetting I've got is: 55 idles, 180 air, 122 mains. Any suggestions as to where to go from here? The engine is a mild 1776, 7.6 CR, 36 dells, unported 044's, c-25 cam, stock rockers, and merged header w/ dual quiet packs. It seems to me that it's running terribly rich, at least at the bottom end. However, if i lean it out any the stumbling/hunting at speed problem gets worse. Ideas, thoughts?

Dellorto tuning/jetting issues
I know this won't help too much. I am running a similar 1776 with 36 Dells. The only difference is I have an engle 110 and the air jet I run is a 200. The other jets are the same as yours.

check to see what size venturi you have installed. it should be no larger than 32mm with that engine size. chances are it is a 30mm and that should be ok.
you should also check the pump jet orings. sometimes the orings dont seal correctly and allow exessive gas into the barrel. with the engine off push down on the gas while looking around where the pump jets are and see if gas is leaking around that area. it should only be coming out of the jet.
with these jets installed it should get you going:
122 main
55 idle
30mm venturi
35 pump jet
180 air
9164.2 emulsion tube
check those orings and let me know how you make out.
