Speedometer repair: needle -Please HELP

Hi to all,

I am trying to repair the speedometer in my 73 SB.

The problem now is that I am not able to detach the indicating needle form the shaft.

I have applied reasonable force, and no, it doesn't want to come out.

Anybody has some hint on how to convince the needle??

This is the last obstacle to success!

I've found that most repairs can be made with the face and pointer still in place. Why do you need to remove the pointer?

There's a guy in the German Look forum who makes custom faces for speedos, so ask him and I'm sure he'll know.
