Need Some wiring/electrical help
Need some help please. Just installed new wiring in my 1969 bug. Big day today, hook up battery and turn on ignition switch, both warning lights come on as does the wiper motor (switch was on). Turn off ignition feeling pretty good and go under hood to turn off the wiper switch (I have not mounted any of the switches yet). No other changes, turn key on ignition switch and nothing, no warning lights, or anything. Check fuses and they're all okay. Test with multi-meter, getting power to regulator, headlight switch and other power terminals, but nothing wants to work now. Headlights don't work, emergency flasher doesn't work, etc. Any ideas? I'm a novice at electrical stuff, would rather build a stroker than rewire a bug but anyway I'm stumped. Any helpful advice appreciated. By the way, I tried another wiper switch just in case that one fried that instant but no diff, plus don't have smell or other hints of a short. Thanks

Victor,
With out looking at a schematic, it sounds like you have a hot wire going thru the wiper then to the ignition. Hence wiper switch on lights and all work, switch off nada. I would double check it with a wiring schematic of the new harness and bentleys/haynes. And carefully retrace where the wires are suppose to go and do go.
Hope this helps
