should i drain the oil outta my old longblock (T4) before I remove it or should i keep it in there? plan on rebuilding it someday, but not w/in the next 6 mos.

Absolutely!The process of combustion of gas creates acid residues,some of which end up in the engine oil.Initially this acid is neutralized,but the oil degrades and loses that ability.This type of acid is weak,whatever it is,but if water is added, sulphuric acid is produced,and you will see major damage as a result.Magnesium is very susceptible to this,and aluminum less so.I've seen this damage dozens of times in "backyard" cores.Drain it.
