Hiya Surf,
I've been reading your posts here in The Bus Barn. This is an excellent source for information about your Bus. There's a lot of folks around here who are more than willing to help you with your Bus-related problems. It's good that you're here.
But you need to take some time to learn a little Bus-related terminology. Proper names of parts will help another person give you the advice you need. And, we can help you with that, if need be. "and it was this tube dripping oil onto stuff" just won't cut it. Also, try this......get yourself a good shop manual (look for Bentley's Official VW Service Manual - a green cover!) and find out what some of these parts are. It would help a lot if you knew what an air filter was and where to find it.
And finally, don't think I'm getting down on you. I'm not. I just want to be sure that you're getting the information you need.

Hey! Surfilike
Thanks Mike for putting that as gently as could be done. Frankly, I was beginning to wonder if it wasn't someone pulling our leg.

Hey! Surfilike
Hiya Surf,
No, we want you to ask those questions. That's how you find out just what's going on. What I'm saying is simply this..... learn what parts are called and refer to them by their name so we know what problem you're having. That way we can help you.
And do try to find that Bentley manual (try Amazon.com) I told you about in the first post. It's worth its weight in gold. Not only will it give you the names of parts. it'll tell you what they do and it'll give you the basic information you'll need to fix some of those problems. You gotta have that book!
