Hiya Muck,

Yep, you have to get down and dirty to check the tranny fluid. Under the bus on the driver side of the transmission you'll find a 17,, plug about halfway up the side of the tranny case. Remove that plug and you should just be able to feel the fluid at the bottom of the plug hole.

I have to agree with Lavabo on the GL-4 vrs GL-5 issue. Although I would say that the NEWER multi-viscosity tranny fluids are supposed to be OK for use in our older transmissions. I'll stick to GL-4, thank you.
