Dissy vaccum retard?

Hi Guys,
Recently got a 76 dual solex carb 2 litre (stock for early 76 in Australia)
The twin vacuum distributor is only hooked up on the advance side and I currently have it timed at 7.5 degree btdc.
Can anyone tell me where the retard nipple on the can should be plumbed to or am I better leaving it as is?

Leave the other side off. Its an attempt at emmission control and not needed. Would require a timing of 5 deg AFTER TDC if hooked up. Your timing sounds about right. I`m running the same setup and same time. Like it a lot better than the 09. Good Luck. Bon Ingman

Bob, what would a 78 w/ single nipple dizzy (205S) need to be timed at if plumbed to manifold vac? Mine is currently at 7.5 vor(?)!

OH! Yea!, It has a 32/36 prog on it too!

Thats probably about right on the timing. However you can check it with a timing light that shows total advance.You should get 28-30 degs total and allow initian timing to fall where it will. I`ll bet it`ll be close to where you aare though. Good luck. Bob

But do not hook up your single vacuum advance
dissy to manifold vacuum, it has to be connected to Ported vacuum which is just above the throttle butterfly.

yEA, i HAVE BEEN RUNNING AT MANIFOLD VAC. wHEN i LET OFF THE GAS, THE TIMING GOES TO ALMOST 42 DEGREES!
