411s 412s NONE Down Here!!!!

You Lucky People who can LOOK at or even DRIVE a 411 412 Volkswagen.
NONE of these UNIQUE Volkswagens were ever sold in Australia!!!!!
I was lucky enough to See two of these Beautiful Unique Cars in the 70s, they had been imported from South Africa.

Hey I've seen at least 4 different 411s/412s around the Brisbane area over the last twenty years!

I was down at VVDS the other day and there were a couple in the junk yard out the front.
Gotta admit they are the only ones i have seen

You know in general...they are unwanted among the VW population here...of course they want the heater...the engine...some want strut suspension...but most were not interested in the car itself. But, most people I have ever met...almost all of them...who have ever driven one for a period of time or have ever owned one...actually loved it! Even those that had problems...loved it! Most walk up and tell that when they were young, their parents had one...and they loved it. I'm thinking of taking mine to shows when its done...and charging for rides just to give people a taste of what they are missing. Ray

Well that certainly sucks as they're totally unwanted here in the states ~ I see near perfect rust free cherry ones in my local pick-a-part all the time . I hooked my buddy up with one , a '74 station wagon with 60,000 original miles in Texas yellow , really a sweet car , one owner little old lady etc. I got the original VWOA AM-FM STEREO out of it for brokering the deal .

We went to the New Beetle introduction at a dealer and they said " STOP! V.W.'s ONLY !" you cannot come in here ! we had to explain it to them .

In So.Cal. they go for $600.00 ~$1000.00 MAX in good running order , most just go to the junkyard

Ain't it the truth. My heart goes faint at the thought of a type 4 in the junkyard. I salivate at the chance to rob parts. And I love the little things.

Got my first one after my ford falcon got bashed by a crazed BMW going 55 mph. The insurance company found it for me. I've been hooked ever since.

There are a few 411/412 around I know that one of the guys at Sydneys VVD had one for sale as he was trying to sell it to me but, I already have a 74 412. There is a 1970 411 here in Wellington (NZ) for sale about $1000nz. It has been stored for about twenty years. look at arcomotors.co.nz for more info on this one.
