Type 4 starter and wiring diagrams

I'm looking for wiring diagram for 73 412, station wagon. I also need info on what starter replacements I can use for this car. I have a 73 station wagon, with a 1700 engine (code W) and an automatic transaxle.

Hello

Didn´t find something online except the EFI resource pages mostly covering the 914. http://www.914fan.net/djet.html http://retro.co.za/d-jet.html http://members.rennlist.com/pbanders/DJetParts.htm

You also can surf the 914 board here for input.

AFIR the 412 automatic used the Bus stick shift starter. They also came with Bus automatic starter. Stick shift is a other story.

The 411/412 autos were almost all shipped with the larger, higher amperage starter. It actually was not a bus starter...the bus uses the 411/412 starter. Hee hee just semantics...the 411 came first. The type 4, 4 speed can use either one. If your starter is turning over, what it sounds like is either a drop in voltage to the coil/ignition system...or no voltage at the main relay. Since you said that you have good injector pattern...I must assume that voltage is present. Check your main grounds along the crankcase seam, Sara...under the left hand intake section. Ray

I may have isolated the problem. I found that one of the wires to the cold start valve was hanging by a thread. SO I am systematically going through all of the injector connections and other such connections in the engine compartment. So far, I have found about 3 loose or disconnected wires.

Any suggestions for finding boots for them and a source for the connectors?

For those that I have fixed, I am suddenly seeing responses at a much stronger and more consistent rate. Now, I can clearly hear the points opening and shutting, and spark seems more consistent. I almost got lift off this evening.

Yeah, Babay. I'm getting closer and closer to a full launch.

Sara...I had a complete response drafted to your latest post at my personnal e-mail. My E-mail crashed this morning. I can probably solve most of your harness problems, either by repairing yours...or sending you spare parts. Contact me after 10:00 pm Central time this evening and I can go over some specifics on the connectors and trigger points for you. Ray

Hello

Not to get confused there are two wire looms. One is for the EFI ( gray ) and the other for the ignition ( black ).
