Hi, I've been visiting a certain forum called VW Archives for the past 2-3 years now, and noticed how it kinda started going down the drain. Today I read a post about how the moderator can't keep up with it anymore and is going to get rid of it. This forum is basicly a place to talk about everything air-cooled. I know that there are alot of "everything air-cooled" forums out there, but we need a new place for all the VW gurus at this soon-to-be-gone site. I'm not saying I want to moderate the forum, don't have time, but I'm sure someone would be glad to. Just an idea.

Oh man, the old saying "you don't know what you're missing until it's gone". Too bad, I have been away for a bit and just read the developments tonight. Can't let it all go down the tubes.

Pete S. has a good idea for the name, TNEWVWA. (since the old onw was know as TVWA, being The VW Archives.)

The New VWA is it? As long as it stands a chance of drawing in some of the regulars. Would be great to keep it going, not to reminisce of what was after it goes down for the count, but to continue and evolve. Hey, it's a start.

I think this is a great idea. TVWA was the first forum that I regularly attended when I first started surfing the net. I've learned a lot over there and have engaged in a few interesting debates over there. There seem to be quite a few regulars.
I suggest "TVWA2" or "New TVWA" for a new forum name. I would also suggest that it NOT be an "aircooled only" forum. There are too many of them and TVWA wasn't really one either. Just a place where you would feel comfortable asking anything VW related.
I hope that TVWA's new home is here, at the Shoptalk forum.
I also would like to nominate Darby as the new forum's moderator(If he's interested).

Here here on the appeal to all VW and not just aircooled. I do not drive a water pumper, but it's all in the family. Think we can get Darby on? It'd be sweet.

Hi guys, Darby would love to moderate, however, if I undertook one more thing this year I'd be in divorce court. As it is I've had to tool up and ship 6 cars off to "other" paintshop as I'm too backlogged. Have 2 frame off's, 3 patch & paints, 1 collision job, 1 theft recovery, 4 restore it when you have time plus the usual need it done by tomorrows. The worse part is I'm charging more & more trying to discourage people & the keep saying yes. No time for my own cars !
I'll hang around though, just let me know where you are all going to be. -D

Hey look! How about we call you "moderator", put your name next to "moderator" and all you have to do is come over and answer some questions, at your convenience(Isn't this what you do anyway?).
Nothing else is required!

Ok well I added the forum, I named it TVWA 2 because I think TNEWVWA might be a little too clever. I am going to reorginize the entire site and add some new forums, I just moved up to Maryland so I don't have a real internet connection yet, so that is why I haven't done too much lately but everything seems nice. I was thinking Callook72, you should be the moderator at least at first, all you need to do is get the peeps from the old one to the new forum. Talk to you later.
