hi, has anyone put pressure in a type 4 engine with original low compression pistons. think about how strong they are. the plan is a 2.0 type 4 bus engine, web cam 163 ported 2.0 cylinder heads. 40/44 solex kadron. with blow through. cb black box. and cb ignition. a gerrat turbo from a 2.0 petrol. I have these things on the shelf at the moment. the target is approximately 200hp. it is for my bug pickup with vw T3 bus automatic transmission. what are your thoughts

I might be the wrong guy to answer but I think a type 4 engine with it's strong bottom end and better cooling heads is the right engine to boost. As for the Kadrons... had a set, not a fan at all, gave them away and bought some genuine Italian Webers. Kadrons are the Chevy Chevette/Ford Escort of the carb world, get the job done if you are short of cash. Quite frankly though if I were building a turbo engine today I would start with EFI and crank trigger for their superior control. Opens up a world of better options for intake air temperature control too.

As for the auto transmission... well, I suppose that is what you have....

If the boost is very modest. Since you aren’t suggesting an intercooler.
