Sitting in the dentists office right now, so I can't listen yet. Can't wait to get home to see if you've got the Neu Yock accent I've always imagined.

I listened to the podcast last night while working on a 1911cc (1800 with 96mm piston kit) turbo type 4. Pretty entertaining. It never dawned on me that you were messing with VWs in New York back when Richard Guarino had his shop and you were a customer there. That's pretty awesome!! I got to meet Richard and Joe Vittone several years ago at a VW show down here in Florida. They were really nice guys.

I bought a copy of your manual several years ago and built all the parts for the upright conversion. Unfortunately life and a divorce got in the way of finishing that particular build but ALL of the fab work is done and it came out perfect thanks to your book. Perhaps in the next year or two I can order the engine parts needed (103mm piston kit and a few random things) and throw it in my bug or something.

Thanks for being a trail blazer for us cheap DIY types!!
