Bitchen rides and a Hubmuller conversion

Post by Ol'fogasaurus »

I just saw a "Bitch Rides" show where they did a 2-part episode on a late-40 Hubmuller update. They went from a stock pan to a later IRS pan with a later model engine with auto trans. The second part was also interesting.

They rebuilt the later model pan and the info might be usable to some of us so I would keep an eye out for it.

Hey Lee - They shot and ran that Bitchin' Rides episode last season. HotVWs also did a cover and feature of the Kindig-It Heb. Nice car!

I don't get a chance to see the original series because of access to TV in the evening   so I never got to see it. I did see the full first part of the show yesterday and that is when they were replacing the rotted-out floor pans.

I did get to watch the whole thing (2 hours' worth) and while it was interesting, but it was the first episode that had some good information. It will be a day viewing session before too long and there is some interesting body work in there also. I don't get Hot VWs anymore as the stack of mags had gotten to the point where the Mrs. got testy about it  . I still have a load of the older issues for reference.

The heb and it's barndoor sibling are both very nice cars, Kindig-it is local to me, they used locals VW folks to help build the engines and supply a few other parts. I did LED tail light sets for both cars. Fun projects to be involved in, even if my products are hidden under paint and lenses.
