right so iv got a
1776
stock valved heads
w110
balanced crank
dual 36 idfs
cb magnaspark 2 distributor with silver 22degree bush installed
if i run it at max advance 32* 10*static higher revs i get a noise from cylinder 3 carb barrel fast non mechanical bang
i have dropped timing to 27* 5* static it really helps with the noise
question is how do i stop this i haven't dropped timing any less yet
makes no difference if the revs are raised fast or slow its just the higher revs it makes the noise
so i have different advance bushes and advancing spring
any help appreciated thanks

Re: 1776 too advanced
I would start with a capacitance check of your plug wires and the high tension lead. Check the dist. itself, and it's cap and rotor (what dist. are you using?) then check your plugs condition. It also could be in the carb on that side too.
Something like this can drive one crazy and it has been my experience that it is usually turns out to be something simple or minor.

Ok its a brand new cb magna spark dizzy thar comes with new leads and coil
The plugs have probably 4hours running time
And it was the same woth a brand new cheap 009 with new leads etc

Re: 1776 too advanced
There are at least two 009 distributers out there. One looks to be stamped and the other looks to be cast. The later one seems to work better than the other one. Not sure about the after market versions but I do hear a lot of complaints about them.
Their max mechanical advance on the 009 comes in about 26° to 28° so you have to account for that. Again, if you are planning on using one try to find the better one. I have been using them for a long time but I do keep another one for backup... just-in-case.
I have bought new plugs and plug wires and have them come in bad or fail early; especially the high tension lead. I switched away from points and condenser years ago and, so far, I have had good luck with the conversion. I still recommend doing a quick capacitance check on them as it only takes a couple of seconds per wire to check.
If you aren't familiar with this: Using a Volt/OHM meter set it to "capacitance" then connect a lead to each end of the wire; the needle should slam to the other side of the gauge things are s/b OK. If not then they/it could be a problem.
Caps and rotors, the same. there seems to be good caps and rotors and WTF units.

Re: 1776 too advanced
Timed at 29-30* max advance
I swapped over to stock rockers now
Fuel pressure is 2 psi but is the same no mater what pressure i run
Ran it for about 30 seconds and all exhaust outlets are hot
Checked main jets even went up a size no change
