oil cooler delete

Post by GARRICK.CLARK1 »

Hi Guys. I have a oil cooler adapter in place of the cooler. It has a loop oil pipe on it to circulate oil. I want to get rid of this loop of pipe as its in the way. CAN I not just use a proper cooler delete plate and be done with it. I have a modified case which is similar to a type 1 full flow system.

Yes but you need to use a type 4 one like a CSP one . I also use it as a place to put other senders . I just use a Mocal thermostat sandwich plate between the filter and housing for my oil cooler circuit . Nice and simple .
No matter where you go , there you are !

If it is the std "empi/CB style"oil cooler to hose adapter like folks use (badly) on t1s... you can simply drill one hole making it a loop, have 2 sensors on it or even use it as an oil return and/or turbo feed... slide a strip of fabric backed sandpaper through and put a radii on the inside corners.

It works a LOT better on a T4 modded like that than as intended.

It takes the late orange cooler port seals and you want 2mm worth of washers on each stud under the cooler adapter.
the thick factory washers work if you still have 3.

I had pics of this posted somewhere... could be type4um, t3 forum or ... somewhere else.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Ok, Thanks guys for the good information.
I do have a CSP one fitted. It has 2 outlets , Forget the thread size now. It has 2 big banjo's fitted. Think I must of bought the wrong 1 for a neat install. I'll modify it.
