What a beauty !

Lovely to see this, it is such a nice thing to do building a new motor with parts like these :)

Thanks, took me some years to gather them, especially a counterweighted crank was not an easy job.
Do have a nice 78mm swedisch welded one now, but had a welded 76.4mm one, which could not be balanced correctly
by the machine shop.... they said it was terrible.
So had some struggles to complete it.
For really good HP figures, I need bigger heads. Those are still on my wish list.

Definitely love the idea of building a 2.2 motor with cylinders like these.

Trail fit,
Longer stroke, Longer rods, so looking if it will fit.
It is tight, but it fits, using the thinner inlet gaskets.
Me happy :D

Well a small diversion, but for the new engine I bought a new transmission, IRS pro street one cause I like a good driving car.
My old transmission was a jumping out off 4 gear swing axle one.
So have had brackets welded in, it was not possible to do this on the car, so removed the pan from the car.
After inspecting the body I saw a small hole, well remove this I thought.... :?
Well that was not so smart, the small was a bit bigger then I hoped for. :( :o
But found a replacement part and welded it.
Can move on now by placing the pan back with all the new suspension parts.

PS don t know what happens but picture keeps turning up, up side down

It is been a time,
but floor is back under the car, everything repainted, new Rancho IRS trans installed.
New fuel line installed, engine is ready to be installed.
First looking for leaks in the fuel system, after that building up oil pressure.
And than the start up.
Fingers crossed.

I really don t know,
bought a sea container full of vw stuff 25 years ago.
Had 3 floorplans and 2 body s in them, took the best floor and best body and made this car out of it.
It s a german 73 floorpan with a mexican body.

Looks tidy though, that little rust is not too bad, also nice to see the solid pre 71 trailing arms fitted!
Liking the Zündapp KS lurking in front of the floor pan :)

It s alive.
Spark - check
Fuel - check (ok had a little leak to fix)
Oil pressure - check
Turned the key, it started at the first go.
Me happy :D
Now first on holiday.
fix some small things and then on the rolling road (Dyno) for tuning.
Hope I manage to do that for EBI.
Fingers crossed.
Got a movie of it, lets see of I can post it here.
