Is there a difference in the route that the throttle cable takes through the fan shroud on a standard carbureted (stock single) engine, vs. a German fuel injection set-up?
I am using a German F.I. Intake for my Megasquirt conversion, with a non-fuel injection fan shroud. The stock VW throttle body that I have, which is missing all the linkage brackets, seems to put the throttle control cable over to the left of the engine a few more inches. If I were to simply relocate the cable route, I would be drilling through the oil cooler. Does the cable take a less direct route, and snake around the cooler? Would complete linkage help relocate the cable back to the standard location?
Any advice, including pictures would really be a benefit.

Not much difference, the same hole from what I can tell it is just on the other side of the oil cooler and front tin(the piece not shown above the trans).

Yeah some may call it overkill, but you can't have too much overkill.

The L-Jet shroud runs the accelerator cable just to the left of the cooler, not "through it":

You can drill new holes if you want to run the linkage.
I ended up getting rid of the FI plenum and linkage and made my own intake.
I had trouble with a real sensitive throttle using all the German stuff.
I did retain the FI shroud though and built my own linkage using only the stock TB.
