Nothing to do with vws except that the driver was more interested in my bug than the bear in the back of his pickup. He works for the Game and Fish department and needs to take the abandoned cub to a sanctuary in Idaho. The cub looked glum til I tapped on the cage, whereupon he was all teeth, claws and a hissing growl as he split his lip while attacking the cage. "Um...well he looks healthy to me." So I signed a certificate of health inspection and they're off to Idaho. After he spent 20 minutes telling me about the bug he had in college.
