Hi All,

I'm new here and looking for some info. I'm in the process of looking for a baja style bug for a general use, daily driver. I'm in Texas, so I want to have, or install, AC in it. I will be making trips to the coast from Austin, so I would like to get something that would do well on mileage, and still have some performance. What should I be looking for in terms of motor, tranny combo that will handle AC?

With that combo - you want a Subaru 2.2l engine. Lots of torque, can run AC, and also heat. And it'll keep up with highway traffic with no effort.
