Hey there.. got a couple vws that need glass.. do you guys order over the net? Who do you order from? Any problems? I need front glass for my '72 Beetle. thx.

I've never tried to get a full windshield delivered - I got the windshields for my splittie, but they're smaller and easier to pack. Whatever you do, don't use Diamond / Triumph Auto Glass! They pretty much destroyed my bug a few years back, and had no interest in repairing the damage.

Check the BBB for your local auto glass shops, and make certain that the glass guys understand about headliners. Make sure you're nearby when they do the job - it keeps them more honest.

Oh no.. I do the install.. was just looking for a good source for glass. Install is pretty darn easy and a good way to make sure it's done right and keeps costs down too.

I had poor luck when I tried it before, but I'll be getting more practice soon - I bought a bug with cracked window gaskets and a bad headliner.

When I need glass, I usually go through one of the local VW mechanics, who buys windshields five at a time, for better prices. I haven't found any places that can ship me glass cheaper than buying from him.

Seattle area.. there's a place over here called Ovals.. may give them a try.

Think I'll just order from So. Cal. Looks to be a pretty good deal.
