Should at least be able to grab trigger pulses from distributor (electronic module)... Probable similar to grabbing points output of negative side of coil and feed into signal into TACH (pin 24) of ECU plug... Probable have to find correct option for ECU to accept signal (conditioning), but yes its do-able to run fuel only...

Download PDF document and in shows a dedicated TACH (tachometer) out put (figure 9), which can probably be tailored to match TACH input (pin 24) of ECU....
You might try contacting Compufire tech support to see if they can give you specs on output signal on TACH lead ( sine wave, square wave, voltages, ect)...
